Chris Herron
Hall of Fame Class of 2017

Coach Herron began his coaching career in 1984 and spent two seasons as coach at Golden City High School in Missouri, before becoming the head coach at Tonganoxie High School.

In his 13 seasons at Tonganoxie he led his teams to 4 state tournaments while accumulating a record of 366-88. In 1989 and 1996 his teams were named the “ Program of the Year” by the KVA.

He then moved to the college ranks when he took over at Benedictine College for 3 seasons, guiding them to their first ever HAAC title in 2000 and a 30-8 record. The following season the Ravens went 32-6, won their first ever HAAC tournament championship and cracked the top 25 for the first time ever. Coach Herron was named HAAC Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001.

In the spring of 2002, Coach Herron was named the head coach at Washburn University. In his 15 seasons with Washburn, he has led them to 13 total trips to the NCAA tournament, won 5 MIAA titles, and has amassed a record of 453-84, an 84.4 % win percentage. He has coached his players to 28 All-American awards and 31 first team MIAA selections.
