Christi Posey
Hall of Fame Class of 2015

Christi lettered in volleyball and softball at Wichita State her freshman and sophomore years before transferring to KU where she was a standout first baseman and outfielder her final two years of eligibility. She earned her bachelor’s degree from KU in 1982.

Christi served as the head volleyball coach at Halstead from 1983-1990, where her teams went to state 4 of those years with a third place finish in 1990.

She was named the head volleyball coach at Blue Valley Northwest in 1993 and served in that capacity until 2000. During that time she guided her teams to state all 8 seasons, winning 6A state championships in 1996 and 1997 while finishing third 3 times. She also served as the head basketball coach and assistant softball coach and was named to the inaugural Husky Hall of Fame Class in 2012. She earned several coach of the year honors while at BV Northwest.

Christi then became the top assistant at KU for Ray Bechard and spent 11 seasons as recruiting coordinator as well as developing the teams setters and defensive specialists as well as many other duties.

She was then named the head volleyball coach at UMKC in 2011. She will be entering her 5th season at the helm, where she guided the ‘Roos to their best season ever this past year. She has helped several players garner all-conference honors during her tenure at UMKC.
