Sarah E. Wamsley Sarah Waugh, now Sarah Wamsley, was a 3-year starter for Lawrence under legendary coach Joan Wells. A 1979 graduate, she was a 3-time state champion from 1976-1978 for Lawrence. She also played basketball and softball for 3 years. Sarah was an first team all-league performer in 1979, the first year such awards were given. She went on to play volleyball for 2 years at KU. She pursued a career in sports nutrition and was able to assist the Wichita State volleyball team for several years in that area.
